Delivering Sheetrock in 1368 Eagle Way

Since most people don’t get to see this, I thought I’d take advantage of being on site when the truck delivered the sheetrock to 1368 Eagle Way, Fruita, Colorado.

It’s so interesting to me to see all of the technology that they have added and now use that didn’t exist 10 or 20 years ago. Technology has made our lives easier, in so many ways!

Trucks now have the ability to stock heavy materials directly onto the roof or into the garage of homes being built or remodeled, which saves the builder from renting a separate crane to lift things onto the roof, or the workers from having to carry each piece themselves. Sheetrock is SO heavy, and even moving more than 2-4 sheets at a time is a lot of work.

As you can see, there was a lot of tile that was delivered earlier this week – having the cranes on the delivery trucks made the job go much more quickly! They still had 7-8 men on different sections of the roof to unload the pallets, but at least all of that heavy tile was up where they needed it!

With the cranes built into the truck, they no longer have to drive onto the property to deliver either. We do not allow most vehicles to drive onto the property once the foundation has been back-filled, and we NEVER allow anyone to drive onto the driveway until we turn the keys over to the new owner. You get to be the first person to drive on your driveway!

We hope you have enjoyed this glimpse into the home building process!
